John Kirke of Spalding,
on 9 January 1685/6.
To Ann
Scarlett, daughter, £40. £20 to be paid within two months of death, the
remainder within 8 months of death. Also all my arable freehold lands in
Burne in the tenure of John Chamberlain. Also the
house she now lives in. If she should die before the lease expires, I leave it
to John Scarlett, her son and if he should die before expiry of the lease, to Samuel
Scarlett, his brother.
To Mary Bladesmith, my daugher, I leave
one little close, freehold in Burne called Skip-role
Close. If any charge be made on the freehold lands, it should be charged
equally to the two daughters. Other goods and chattels to Mary
Bladesmith who is executrix.
Friends,
James Gurnar and Nehemiah Woods, senior, of Spalding,
to supervise the execution of the will. Each of these to have 10/-
£1 for
the poor of Spalding to be distributed at the funeral.
