The Parliamentary Gazetteer’s Summary of Irnham, 1843.


Irnham, a parish in Beltisloe wapentake, union of Bourn, Lincolnshire; 2 miles north-east by north of Corby [Glen], and east of the river Glen. It contains the hamlets of Bulby and Hawthorp. Living, a rectory, with the vicarage of Corby and the curacy of Bulby, in the archd. and dio. of Lincoln; rated at £13 13s. 9d. ; gross income £662. Tithes commuted in 1839; aggregate amount £598 17s. 2d. Patroness, in 1835, Lady E. Clifford. The Roman Catholics have a chapel here; and there are 2 daily schools. Acres 3,520. Houses 66. A. P. £3,667. Pop., in 1801, 299 ; in 1831, 394. Poor rates, in 1838, £98 16s.
