234 x 150 mm. 489 pp. plus introduction and appendices. Facsimile of the 2^nd edition, which was enlarged from the 1^st. of 1868. Wheeler was a civil engineer specializing in drainage works. He moved to Boston in 1861, to do this work. He gives a thorough report of the history of the northern fen drainage and of its then current state.
